Graduation Information

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS ~ BOARD POLICY 217

Every graduate must obtain the minimum credit requirements as described in the course catalog. 

GRADUATION PROGRAMS AND SPEAKERS

Student graduation ceremony speakers will be determined at the end of the final marking period during the senior year.  Graduation ceremony speakers will be the valedictorian (senior with the highest class rank at the end of the final marking period), and the salutatorian (senior with the second highest class rank at the end of the final marking period).  The senior student council and graduation committee will provide input regarding inclusion of additional senior class speakers, as well as the ceremony itself.  

For recognition purposes first honors are a final GPA of 3.75 and above. Second honors are a final GPA of 3.25 to 3.74. All grade point averages are computed to three decimal places.  At the Central Cambria Graduation Ceremony, first and second honor students are recognized by gold and white sashes.

GRADUATION ANNOUNCEMENTS

Information on the ordering and purchasing of Graduation Announcements, name cards, caps, and gowns will be made available to students each spring.  

STUDENT FINANCIAL OBLIGATIONS

Students will not be given final report cards or diplomas until all obligations have been paid. Obligations include money owed for damaged or lost books, sports equipment that has not been returned, overdue library books, broken plates, missing driving placards, etc.  Obligations of this type are handled in the main office.
